Happy Susto Vase
Happy Susto is one of the most charismatic ceramic works by Hayon, who has designed a series of decorative ceramics. The Happy Susto design is the base of the Happy Yeti vases, drafted two years later. The white–blue and blue-white ceramic vases Happy Susto are glazed and available at TAGWERC in two different sizes. Happy Susto in size S measures 34 centimeters in height and 24 centimeters in width. The depth of the sculptural vase is ten centimeters. The Happy Susto vase in size L has a height of 47 centimeters with a width of 33 and a depth of 14 centimeters.

The Happy Susto vases are straight at the bottom, which gives them excellent stability. As an eye-catcher on a sideboard or shelf, as a flower vase on a table or windowsill – Happy Susto is extraordinary and delights design lovers and even those who are otherwise not very fond of decorative pieces. „The little decorations, not only have a decorative purpose, but also can have artistic value and an emotional one where a sense of humour fits in“, explaines Jaime Hayon.
Little decorative items have been part of BD Barcelona’s catalogue since Ettore Sottsass drafted the Shiva vase back in 1973. Little architectural pieces is what Sottsass called them, which have naturally paralleled larger furniture items, but not less important due to their size. Among them is the humble water bottle designed by Josep M. Jujol, the imperfect vases by Xavier Mañosa, or the more iconic Happy Susto, Happy Yeti and Showtime series by Jaime Hayon. An abundance of talent can be found in them, just the same as can be found in the pieces supporting them such as a cabinet. Their purpose is a decorative one, although for us, they carry an emotional and artistic value. They are absolutely timeless.
