Joe Baseball Armchair

As a material, different leather versions and five colour variants are available. The furnishing consultants from the TAGWERC Design STORE will assist with material samples for the Joe Baseball chair – if required. The lounge chair Joe is legendary: stars and celebrities from all over the world love the lounge chair for its uniqueness, luxurious craftsmanship and history. The Italian manufacturer Poltronova manufactures Joe by hand from finest leather. Each baseball armchair is unique, sharing its life with its owner and gaining patina over time. This makes Joe more of an emotional companion than a functional piece of furniture that welcomes you after a hard day’s work and rewards you with warmth and comfort, of course, without forgetting the exclusive style.

Inspired by Pop Art and designed in the style of Radical Design by the designers Gionatan de Pas, Donato d’Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi (Studio DDL), the popularity of baseball player Joe DiMaggio, center fielder with the back number 5 at the New York Yankees, plays a crucial role. DiMaggio embodied honesty, respect and loyalty. The son of simple Sicilian immigrants, left school for sport at the age of 16. In 1949 he signed a contract with the New York Yankees over $ 100,000 a year. Marilyn Monroe was DiMaggio’s great love and couple from 1952 to 1954. Until DiMaggio’s death in 1999, he regularly sent her red roses to her grave. Just, as the New York Yankees no longer assign number 5 in his honor, Sudio DDL has created a design memorial with lounge chair Joe for the charismatic athlete with Italian roots.

Joe is made of a steel frame padded with polyurethane foam. The sturdy shell of the XXL size armchair forms smooth leather, optionally in different colour shades. The chair rests on mobile wheels, which keep the leather armchair Joe mobile despite its considerable size. At a width of 175 centimeters, a depth of 110 centimeters and a height of 95 centimeters, Joe offers enough space to relax and let your soul dangle. Despite its sculptural form, Joe’s comfort is by no means neglected. The TAGWERC Design STORE recommends Joe to those, who do not want to give up the special with convenience.
