BALL TYPE H

by Verner Panton, 1969

Ball lamps such as the Ball Type H are based on Verner Panton’s Fun lighting designs from 1964. Once made in shades of blue and red tones, multi-faceted spheres produced multi-faceted luminous sculptures. Verner Panton loved the highly sculptural character of the Ball pendant lamps in a number of projects. At the Visona 2 exhibition as part of the Cologne Furniture Fair 1970, the Ball lamps supported the effect of Panton’s installation Phantasy Landscape. In the Varna Palace, a restaurant in Aahaus / Denmark, the Ball lamps increased the comfort, both in the restaurant and in the lounge area.

Ball TYPE H

By the end of the 1960s the whole world was in motion. And it was very, very colourful. The society expanded its consciousness and
400.000 celebrated its peak at the Woodstock Music Festival in August 1969 as a proxy for an entire generation. In the same year, Verner Panton created the Ball lamp series, including the Ball Type F and the Ball Type H. Above all, the Ball Type F pendant lamp with red and orange ball is the lamp manifestation of the hippie movement.

Today, the design interior specialist TAGWERC uses the Ball Type H in silver both, in private homes and in the office sector. The shiny silver balls set a special accent in the dining area, hallway and foyer. At the same time, the spheres reflect the environment and blend seamlessly into the ambience. A four-meter-long, fabric-covered textile cable allows flexibility during installation, even in high rooms. If required, Tagwerc also supplies the Ball Type H with a longer cable.

From all the ball lamps, Verner Panton created in 1969, the Ball Type H is the only one that has survived. The silver Ball suspension fits in office, bedroom and dining room or wherever you want to place it. Every single one of the polyprophylen plastic balls carries the signature of its design master. One of the signs that guarantees original design.
