VP ASTORIA GREIGE
The Danish architect and designer completely covered the floors, ceilings and walls in this pattern dress. Café, conservatory and cloakroom of the restaurant were designed in this design. While Verner Panton sketched Geometri already in 1960, the general public discovered this form of decoration not until end of the 1960s. This makes it clear, what Verner Panton was: a mentor and pioneer of the big epoch of Pop Art Design. The VP Astoria Greigel rug picks up on this interior design. The VP Astoria Greige rug uses the effect of contrasts. The brighter colour is contrasted by a darker colour. The VP Astoria Greige carpet works with greybeige and ivory-white as an opponent. Straight edges on the hand-knotted VP Astoria Greige carpet look like lines, though there are no actual lines. Checkered squares, like a checkerboard pattern, alternate with elements of rhombuses. Each field counts seven by seven equal elements. The special arrangement of the per se simple and quiet pattern creates an optical illusion, that makes VP Astoria Greige three-dimensional and spectacular.
